The default scene file only supplies one light source (casting shadows in one direction, of course). But what if you want more than one light source?

Adding additional light sources is relatively easy. First create a custom scene file for your model's LXF file and edit it. On Windows, you can open it with Notepad or you can click on the scene file path in the Bluerender main window.

You will see a light definition in the file that looks like this:

light {
  type sunsky
  up 0 1 0
  east 1 0 0
  sundir 1 1 1
  turbidity 7
  samples 64
}

You could, for example, replace this light source with two spherical lights (spherical light sources act rather like light bulbs, while sunsky acts more like the natural sun.

light {
    type spherical
    color 1 1 1
    radiance 10    center 0 50 -50
    radius 20
    samples 64
}

light {    type spherical
    color 1 0 0
    radiance 10
    center 0 50 -50
    radius 20
    samples 64
}
